Automotive Service Technician
The Experienced Automotive Service Technician services and repairs vehicles as assigned by management following all established standards and procedures. In addition, he or she may be assigned to conduct pre-delivery service on new vehicles to ensure excellent working order for the customer. Responsibilities
- Perform the work on each repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership, state and factory standards
- Address the customer's primary concern with diagnosis, repair and quality control to attain Fixed First Visit expectations
- Perform the Electronic Multi Point Inspection on every vehicle
- Notify the Service Advisor immediately if the car has more problems than you thought, less than you thought, or if those problems are going to take up more time than you thought
- Master our Dealer Management System (Reynolds) for work distribution, electronic inspections, repair quotes and communication
- Keep our work are in stop shape and able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times
- Ace your assigned factory-sponsored training classes
- Understand Federal, State and Local regulations
- Make sure to leave no trace in a customer's car by keeping it clean
- Maintain knowledge of all factory technical bulletins
Other Duties:
- Read manufacturer's drawings and manuals
- Basic computer and internet literacy
- Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools
- Keep shop equipment operating (maintain, troubleshoot, repair, etc.)
- Drive manual transmission vehicles
- Use computer diagnostic equipment
Qualifications
- Stellantis Performance Certification is a plus!
- Level 2-3 Dealer experience techs/other manufacture technicians encouraged to apply.
- 3-5 years of vehicle service and repair experience
- Dealership experience preferred 2-4 years
- Able to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff.
- Safety and customer service oriented.
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed.
- Professional appearance and work ethic.
- Self-motivated with solid work habits.
- Valid California driver's license
