CARSTAR Northwest in Omaha is currently seeking to hire an Apprentice Body Technician.
The Apprentice Body Technician is responsible for disassembling, inspecting and assessing vehicles for additional or hidden damage, and reassembly. Additional duties include light auto body repairs and assisting with larger repairs under supervision on experienced technicians.
The Apprentice Body Technician position will:
· Disassemble vehicles, after initial estimate, to inspect and report on internal structure and parts damage
· Document and record all additional damage found as well as parts needed
· Notify Production Manager/Estimator of supplements based on additional damage/parts discovered
· Reassemble vehicles after paint work is completed
· Perform light auto body repairs – light finishing, sanding, minor bumper repairs, and assist body technicians with larger repairs.
Required hours – Monday – Friday
Required Skills and Experience:
· High school diploma required, collision vocational school graduate preferred
· Prior knowledge of vehicle blueprinting or disassembly experience preferred
· I-CAR, ASE training or other industry training preferred
· Prior experience with hand tools used for vehicle disassembly/reassembly
Skills & Abilities Requirements:
- Reliable work history, attendance and punctuality
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized, able to handle multiple concurrent assignments
- Must have valid driver’s license
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
