We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in diagnosing and repairing various types of equipment.
Job Description - Mechanic
Preferred Job Requirements:
Minimum 3+ years of mechanical experience. This individual must be motivated and detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a PLUS!
Job Requirements: Must have own tools (Reimbursement up to $500/year). 2 to 5 years experience in small engine repair. Utilize hand and power tools to perform maintenance on machinery and equipment. Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs). Valid Iowa Drivers License. Utilize trucks/trailers for moving materials. Utilize technology to communicate.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Perform service and repairs on mowers, tractor mowers, stand on mowers, walk behind mowers, snow blowers, 2 cycle engines, trimmers, chain saws and sharpening of blades.
- Communicate with department managers and other personnel in order to plan and coordinate tasks needing done
- Delegate tasks appropriately to other technicians to ensure work is done timely and effectively
- Diagnoses and repairs small engines/equipment as needed
- Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
- Accounts for all time and materials used in performing assigned duties
- Assist in performing maintenance and repairs on equipment. This may include but not limited to the following: On road vehicles, implements, Skid loaders, Diagnostic of mechanical systems, Various repair of general mechanical failures, Tire repairs and replacement, Various metal fabrication duties
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- All other duties assigned by manager
Equipment/Tools/Materials Used:
- Hand and power tools
- Generators
- Computer/Cell phone
- Building equipment (i.e. ventilation system, etc.)
- Company Vehicles and trailers

Qualifications:
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate degree preferred
- Basic knowledge of small engines, electrical, fuel and hydraulic systems
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment.
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on knowledge and experience.

Supplemental pay types: Bonus pay when applicable. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our operations, particularly in heavy equipment and automotive systems. The Mechanic will work on a variety of tasks, including fabrication, electrical repairs, and hydraulic systems, while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical issues in vehicles and heavy equipment, utilizing automotive diagnostics tools.
- Perform repairs on air brake systems, hydraulics, and electrical components.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance of machinery.
- Fabricate parts as needed to support repair efforts.
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently during repair processes.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations within the workshop.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Proficiency in working with Caterpillar machinery and other heavy equipment brands.
- Familiarity with air brake systems and hydraulic components.
- Experience operating forklifts and other heavy machinery safely.
- Ability to fabricate parts or components as required for repairs.
- Knowledge of dealership operations is a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and report findings.
