Superior Industrial Equipment is a distributor for several of the top industrial pump, blower, and mechanical seal equipment manufacturers. This equipment is critical to the operation of general industrial plants, chemical plants, power and steam plants, and water and wastewater plants.
We are looking to add a mechanic to our shop located in Des Moines, IA. The mechanic's responsibilities include disassembling equipment, cleaning and inspecting pumps, blowers and gearboxes in our Des Moines shop. The mechanic will inspect parts and record dimensions, diagnose failure mode when possible, develop repair work scope and identify parts needed. Lastly, the mechanic will be responsible for repair, reassembly, paint and preparation of shipment.
Qualifications: Valid Driver's License, Mechanical aptitude, and common tool use. Ability to read measuring tools such as micrometers is requested.
Will train the right candidate to learn the specific equipment that we work on. There is future growth potential in this position.
