Job Overview:
As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and equipment. You will work on either the 1st shift (day shift) or 2nd shift (swing shift), depending on operational needs. Your role is crucial in ensuring the machinery operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and execute repairs promptly to minimize production delays.
- Replace or repair defective parts, such as bearings, gears, and belts.
- Troubleshooting:
- Identify mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Analyze malfunctioning systems and determine appropriate solutions.
- Test repaired systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Document parts and materials used, and track work orders and service logs.
- Report major repairs or potential issues to supervisors.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Follow all regulatory and company guidelines for mechanical maintenance and repairs.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other maintenance staff and production teams to address equipment issues.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding the status of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Provide guidance and training to junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or associate degree in mechanical technology or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in mechanical maintenance or repair is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
