Fenton Glass Service is looking for a Auto Glass Specialist-Customer Service Representative that is willing to learn the "glass" business. The candidate will work in our Auto and Residential Glass Division located in Fenton, Michigan. This position requires someone who consistently demonstrates excellent customer service, can assist the Auto Glass Technician with windshield installation if needed, pays attention to detail, has good math skills for measuring (different size pieces of glass) and is proficient with Microsoft Word and internet applications. Strong communication, organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment is a must. This position is a blend of an Auto Glass Assistant skill set and a Customer Service Representative skill set. **A unique opportunity to learn a "skilled trade" that will require some manual skills and special training in our glass business!**
Main responsibilities of this position include but is not limited to:
- Ability to multi-task; managing walk-in customers.
- Ability to use professional communication when answering inbound sales calls knowing our product and helping with customer’s needs.
- Ability to utilize the computer as necessary to enter customer work orders, generate invoices, research vehicle windshields by VIN #'s through our online vendors, email customers and vendors etc.
- Ability to communicate with Insurance Companies, assisting customers with their Insurance Agent and deductible for windshield replacement.
- Must have good math skills/measuring skills, or the willingness to learn these skills.
- Ability to schedule appointments on the daily calendar for the auto glass replacement appointments and residential glass installation appointments.
- Ability to assist the Auto Glass Technician with windshield replacement.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Must have a great attitude and be willing to go above and beyond to get the job done.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Must demonstrate exemplary attendance.
- Must have the ability to listen effectively to customers and co-workers; communication skills are essential in this position.
- Ability to handle conflict in a diplomatic approach.
Additional responsibilities include:
- General office duties
- Telephone skills; ability to answer professionally and assist customers.
- Creating files, maintaining files and filing.
- Follow-up with customers by telephoning when their work order is complete.
- Maintaining office equipment; printers, fax machine, copier
- Monitor necessary office supplies as-needed.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow-through with a task/job

- Managing cash/credit card payments and transactions.
- Strong computer skills essential.
