Position Overview: The Auto Body Shop Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the auto body shop, including overseeing staff, ensuring high-quality repairs, and maintaining excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of auto body repair processes, and a passion for delivering outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the auto body shop’s daily operations, including staff supervision, scheduling, and workflow management.
- Ensure that all repairs and services are performed to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ordering parts and supplies as needed.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve shop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Prepare and manage budgets, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Coordinate with insurance companies and other vendors to facilitate repairs and ensure timely payment.
- Conduct regular inspections of work performed to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Recruit, train, and mentor new staff members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to shop operations, including repair orders, inventory, and employee performance.
Job Overview: The Body Shop Manager is responsible for profitability and daily operations of the Body Shop. The Body Shop Manager must demonstrate skills in recruiting, training, insurance claim administration, and business development.
- Serves as a liaison between customers and body technicians
- Takes the lead as first line customer service representative
- Problem-solver who meet service and sales objectives
- Motivates Body Shop team to increase performance
- Answers questions about estimates and quotes when necessary
- Provides resolutions of customer complains
- Creates work schedules and maintains proper accounting of Body Technicians productivity
- Perform monthly inventory of Body Shop paint and materials and turn into accounting
- Oversees employee training and development
- Ensures a safe working environment
- Ensures that equipment is properly maintained and repaired
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a manager in an auto body shop or a similar automotive repair environment.
- Strong understanding of auto body repair techniques, tools, and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in shop management software and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional management or automotive certifications are a plus.
