Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payable within the automotive industry or in a similar environment, with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process incoming invoices for multiple dealership locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies by communicating effectively with vendors and internal departments.
- Payment Preparation: Prepare checks, electronic payments, and ACH transfers, ensuring all payments are timely and correctly authorized.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions, including filing, scanning, and archiving documents.
- Expense Coding: Assign proper general ledger codes to invoices and expenses, ensuring correct allocation of funds across departments.
- Vendor Management: Manage vendor accounts, including setting up new vendors, updating information, and maintaining positive relationships through prompt responses.
- Month-End Close Support: Assist with month-end closing procedures by providing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures, and assist in preparing periodic financial reports as required.
- Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with the finance and accounting teams on special projects, audits, and other department needs.
Qualifications:
Experience: 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the automotive industry or a multi-location environment.
Skills:
- Proficiency with accounting software (experience with CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or other dealership software preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
