Job Title: Auto Body Technician I

Summary: As a member of the Martin’s Family, the Auto Body Technician I is primarily responsible for prepping company vehicles, scissor and man lifts , and bakery equipment for painting. T he Auto Body Technician I is someone who has basic working knowledge of the technical trade , maintains industry knowledge , who embraces a mindset of thorough planning and continuous improvement, and who is rigorously dedicated to extraordinary quality and service.
EssentialDutiesand Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Details interior and exterior of all company vehicle types.
Performs wet sanding, buffing and waxing of exterior finishes.
Exhibits proper use of vacuum, carpet cleaner and steamer for interior carpets and upholstery.
Washes interior and exterior of trailers to ensure proper food safety measures are met.
Removes decals from vehicles.
Performs sand blasting on parts and other materials.
Assists Level 2 Technician in disassembly, paint prep for refinishing and reassemble after refinishing.
Exhibits safe and proper operation of DA sander for paint prep.
Assists Level 2 Technician with exterior and interior panel removal and installs.
Performs application of anti-skid and stone protector to needed vehicle types.
Applies epoxy primer to frame reconstruction projects.
Keeps work area clean and in constant order.
Adheres to safety standards when working with toxic chemicals to remove decals from vehicles, mix paint, and clean paint from painting apparatus.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED;
Associate’s Degree from two-year technical school in related field;
One year related experience;
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
