Job Description:
As an Apprentice Diesel Mechanic, you will work under the guidance of an experienced diesel mechanic to learn the skills necessary to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in diesel mechanics and heavy equipment repair and gain hands-on experience in a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist mechanic with routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including air brake systems, fuel systems, and electrical systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Conduct inspections and ensure vehicles comply with safety regulations.
- Replace and repair faulty parts and components.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills.
- CDL training may be offered to the right candidate
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong interest in mechanics and machinery.
- Basic understanding of diesel engine principles and concepts.
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.
- Valid driver’s license.
