Northern Inspection Services provides corrosion control services in the oil & gas industry and public utilities.
NIS is seeking Coating/Painting Professionals with CIP-1 and CIP-2 credentials. Employment will be based out of our main office location in Gilberts, IL. A majority of the work will be field based, with travel across the Midwest.
Job Description:
You will be responsible for assisting in surface preparation, abrasive blasting, painting, and coating. Ideally, this labor position will encompass the various project tasks that NIS performs, this position might cross train between Cathodic Protection and Coating Projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
-Meticulous attention to detail for quality finished coatings.
-Preparation prior to coating application including washing, sanding, masking and painting.
-Complete coating/painting tasks for industrial piping, valves, transitions, etc. located above or below grade.
-Application of coatings to meet client and manufacturers specifications.
-Experience with mixing and application of two-part epoxies per manufacturers specifications.
-Maintain clean and organized workspace.
-Understanding specifications and product data sheets.
-Ability to identify hazards, work safely.
-Maintenance/cleaning of all equipment.
· Strong team, internal customer service skills and problem-solving skills.
· Must be able to multitask.
· Must be able to travel .
· Assist in any other duties that may be required.
Requirements
Qualifications:
· High-school diploma
- Minimum 3 year experience industrial blasting
-Experience with use of Sherwin-Williams, Carboline, PPG coating systems
-Be safety driven with a high level of professionalism
-Must be able to succeed in a team-oriented atmosphere
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
· Must be able to prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively under time constraints
· Exhibit strong communication skills and attention to detail
· Willingness to develop skills and certifications through applicable industry organizations, such as AAMP/NACE
Working Environment:
· Travel required for 75%-100% of work
· You will be frequently required to stand, walk, reach, bend, and climb.
· This position requires the ability to occasionally lift to 50 pounds.
Licenses/Certificates:
Valid Driver’s license (required), CDL preferred
NACE CIP-1 or higher
This is a DOT regulated position and successful applicants must be eligible to work in the US and be able to pass a pre-employment physical, background and drug screening.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 66 per week
