Position Purpose:
The Reconditioning Settlement Advisor is a vital member of our equipment reconditioning team. The Reconditioning Settlement Advisor plays a crucial role in evaluating, documenting, and estimating repairs required for class 8 tractors and trailers as they are returned from lease. This individual has a keen eye for accurately assessing damaged equipment and a collaborative mindset to work closely with our internal team in achieving common goals.
Position Responsibilities:
- Continuously learn, share, and implement improvements in all processes and responsibilities as needed to enhance effectiveness of providing world class service and support.
- Oversee the reconditioning settlement process for assigned equipment.
- Understand various customer equipment agreements and TEL return standards, demonstrating the ability to apply the information to the final settlement.
- Use information and judgment to create a Customer Damage Summary that serves as a final settlement with the customer on the assigned equipment.
- Accurately distribute and execute the final invoicing, utilizing a solid understanding of the accounting process.
- Track and report profit/loss for assigned equipment.
- Collaborate with sales and other functional departments as required.
- Maintain the company’s standards for ethical business practices, professional image, orderliness, customer service, and good employee and community relations.
- Participate in the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures as appropriate.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as required to meet business needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience writing or reviewing estimates.
- Above average computer proficiency.
- Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain collaborative and effective cross-functional working relationships.
- Take ownership of assigned work projects.
- Apply critical thinking skills to effectively analyze information and form judgments.
- Possess a Customer Service mindset and familiarity with settlement processes.
- Exhibit strong time management and record-keeping abilities.
- Demonstrate the ability to concentrate and accomplish tasks despite interruptions.
- Multitask effectively, performing a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiently use computers and business machines.
