Job Summary
This position is for a mechanical/electrical/assembly technician. This position will report directly to the shop owner. This is a Mon-Thurs 7 AM – 5 PM (40 hr. workweek) full-time position and overtime on an as-needed basis
Job Responsibilities
- Must work in a safe manner, using PPE and all tools and equipment correctly
- Ensure all equipment is in safe working condition. Let supervisor know immediately if any issues arise
- Must be able to plan and execute short and long term projects. This includes:
o Late model drivetrain retrofit swaps/upgrades start to finish
o Aftermarket EFI plumbing, installation, and troubleshooting
o Fuel system plumbing, installation, and troubleshooting
o Cooling system plumbing, installation, and troubleshooting
o Coil-over and air suspension upgrades, installation, and troubleshooting
o Performance brake system plumbing, installation, and troubleshooting
o Aftermarket HVAC plumbing, installation, and troubleshooting
o Aftermarket chassis and EFI wire harness installation, integration, and troubleshooting
o Aftermarket stereo system installation, integration, and troubleshooting
o Some metal fabrication, painting, and final assembly and fitment
- Inspect your own and other technicians’ work at certain milestones and ensure quality is maintained
- Advise supervisor of matters deserving attention regarding installation and repairs
- Assist in identifying and ordering and necessary parts, materials, tools, and equipment that are needed
- Ensure that the shop is clean and organized at the end of each day
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma. Tech school graduate and/or applicable automotive certifications are a plus
- Must have a valid Tennessee driver's license
- Must have sufficient strength and dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this position
- Must have 5+ years of applicable automotive experience
- Must have technical knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment of the trade
- Must have technical knowledge and working experience in aftermarket and performance drivetrain, suspension, brakes, HVAC, EFI, wiring, etc.
- Must have effective interpersonal and communication skills with other technicians and supervisors
- Must have acute attention to detail and be able to check and uphold the highest quality
- Must have strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Must be able to effectively and efficiently multi-task throughout the day
- Must have necessary tools to complete day-to-day tasks in efficient manner
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
