$25.00 an hour
24 Collision Center is a division of Ed Kardon's 24 Auto Group. With dealerships in Brockton, Mansfield, Easton, Somerset, Dartmouth, East Providence, Plymouth and Westborough, we are well-positioned to meet the transportation needs of our current and future owners.
Position Summary:
This position will entail a wide variety of Auto Body needs including tearing down and rebuilding of vehicles, assisting with parts, organizing our production line of vehicle repairs and helping with Prep while learning the business and ensuring that the Collision Center maintains a consistently high level of safety and customer satisfaction that is consistent with Route 24 Auto Group’s core philosophies, principles, and values.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure our customers have a world-class service experience at every step along their ownership journey, especially in vehicle repairs
- Willingness to Learn: Be a self-starter and problem solve independently, while utilizing the knowledge and expertise of your mentor to advance your technical understanding and work experience
- Accountability: Comply with all manufacturer standards of quality and timeliness for repairs and maintenance work, and ensure that all estimates and work orders are accurate
- Safety: Understand and comply with all federal, state and local regulations that affect shop operations, such as handling and disposal of hazardous waste, OSHA, and use of safety and health personal protective equipment.
- Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
- Removes rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface.
- Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
- Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
- Mixes paint according to specifications.
- Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color.
- Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate.
- Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, or unpainted areas.
- Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested.
- Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.
- Aid in keeping all work areas clean.
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
- Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
- Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
