Responsible for safe and efficient operation. Work is performed in accordance with the instructions received by a supervisor, but is expected to carry out assignments free of constant direct supervision. Responsible for pre-shift inspection of work area and equipment and is expected to refer problems to the supervisor. Must comply with all company safety regulations, operation requirements, and efficiency levels while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.
1. Responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, modifying, fabricating, and repairing mobile and stationary equipment.
2. Prepares computer generated work orders, change out parts, checks the status of direct orders and follows procedures to pick up parts and supplies from the warehouse.
3. Performs equipment walk around, inspects and operates equipment, properly disposes of wastes, and gathering technical information to perform the job.
4. Responsible for all tasks related to preventative maintenance program such as performing lube work, taking fluid samples, inspecting components, and parts for proper operation, damage, or wear, etc. Repair and replace components and parts as needed.
5. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
6. Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by state.
7. Punctuality and regular attendance required.
8. Able to respond to equipment emergency while on call within 1 hour and willing to respond to emergencies as man-power needs dictates.
9. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
11. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.

8. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing work processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
9. Strong analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
10. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
11. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational, and technical writing skills.
12. Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
