Dearth GMC in Monroe is accepting applications for our Automotive Mechanic/Technician position! This position is ideal for an individual with previous automotive experience, excellent communication skills, and excellent customer service skills. Responsibilities:
- Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies
- Test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (electrical and mechanical)
Primary Duties:
- Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
- Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety and combustion control standards
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed with the most up to date information
- Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
- Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt
- Maintain shop equipment through troubleshooting and preforming preventive maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or Technical degree in related field is preferred
- Previous experience in the automotive field
- ASE certifications is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Valid drivers license or the ability to obtain one
- Able to provide personal tools
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent exposure to outside weather elements
- Ability to work 8-10 hour days, including overtime hours as needed
- Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
