Position
If you are a hardworking and a team player with product delivery experience, we want to talk to you! Performance Radiator is currently looking for a Radiator Shop Technician to join us at our office in Phoenix, AZ.
Summary: Repairs and overhauls heat exchangers & fuel tanks made from a variety of materials and used in the operation of automobiles, buses, trucks, marine vessels and stationary units, excluding any aircraft, by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Examines part to be repaired and discusses correct course of action to return the unit to operating condition.
Develops Plan on how to perform work.
Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear.
Any additional parts or repairs that were not found during the initial inspection should be brought up to the attention of the manager/supervisor.
Assists or directs the ordering of replacement components.
Replaces parts such as cores, coolers, tubes, connections, headers, gaskets, nuts and bolts.
Overhauls units according to industry, company and shop standards.
Understands and maintains any and all on-site environmental systems pertaining to the disposal of products from the waste stream.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Proven understanding of basic hand tools. Must be proficient with gas torches for soldering and cutting. Gas, MIG and TIG for welding. Must prove competency in the use of pneumatic cutoff wheels, air guns and wrenches. Ability to operate band saws, cutoff saws, reciprocal saws.
Able to read drawings showing depths and dimensions. Proficient with both metric and standard tape measures.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Basic skills in addition and subtraction. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
Not mandatory, keyboarding and basic competency strongly encourage
