Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese vehicle automotive repair and maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and performance of our clients' vehicles. We are an extremely busy small family oriented General Automotive repair shop that specializes in the Japanese makes. We understand and embrace the balance of a work/life schedule. Our current schedule is M-F 7:00AM to 3:30 PM. This is an hourly position, no flat rate. We provide a benefits package that includes PTO, paid Holidays, contribution to a heath care package and a 2 percent contribution to a retirement plan.
Compensation is negotiable and based on experience and performance.
Duties
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance including Maintenace Services, Vehicle Inspections, Tire rotations and brake inspections.
- Diagnose and repair automotive electrical systems, ensuring all components function correctly.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues or necessary repairs.
- Replacement of components such as Alternators, Starters, Ignition Coils and Spark plugs as needed.
- Replacement of suspension components such as Shocks/Struts and Control Arms, etc.
- Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot mechanical, electronic and EVAP system problems.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand complex automotive systems.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies, including Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS).
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work on various vehicle makes and models.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance protocols and industry best practices.
- Experience with European and Domestic Vehicles is a plus.
- Proficient in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- A clean and valid driver's license is required; additional certifications and SMOG licenses are a plus.
