Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics. Our facility provides comprehensive vehicle service and repair, with a significant focus on installing injection pumps, injectors, and turbochargers. Attention to detail, cleanliness, and adherence to proper installation techniques and torque specifications are essential. Our shop is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, including scan tools, turbo balancers, injector test stands, injection pump test benches, media blast cabinets, sonic washers, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Identify faulty steering and suspension components, removing and replacing them as needed.
- Read and interpret schematics and troubleshooting trees for complex diesel engine systems.
- Utilize scan tools and diagnostic equipment to accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
- Perform major repairs, such as cylinder head gaskets, engine R&R, transmission/clutch replacements, and fuel system replacements.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to identify potential issues proactively.
- Maintain detailed records of all services performed and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient repair completion.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in diesel engine repair and general automotive repair techniques.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately.
- Proficient in the safe and effective use of various power tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.
