A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AUTOMOTIVE SHOP TECHNICIAN
As an Automotive Shop Technician, your day is diverse and dynamic. You start by performing maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on vehicles and equipment, specializing in suspension, steering, brakes, HVAC, engine performance, and electrical systems. Collaborating with team members, you also handle tasks like installing decals and window tinting.
Regularly attending training sessions ensures your certifications remain current with evolving technologies. Your keen attention to safety and efficiency allows you to identify and recommend solutions for potential operational challenges. You diligently maintain records of all repair and maintenance activities, ensuring thorough documentation of work order history. Additionally, you repair any plumbing equipment that needs repairing.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record
- 3+ years of full-time experience in the auto repair industry OR a diploma from an accredited vocational training center in auto repairs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of repair manuals, diagnostic equipment, and safety regulations
- Knowledge of the standard tools, materials, and practices of the automotive mechanical trade
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in varied environmental conditions
WORK SCHEDULE
