Description:
The Automotive Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of technicians in the efficient and effective repair and maintenance of vehicles.
Responsibilities
Technical Expertise:
- Diagnose and repair complex automotive problems, including engine, transmission, electrical, and suspension systems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
Team Leadership:
- Assign tasks to technicians based on their skills and experience.
- Provide technical guidance and support to technicians.
- Monitor technician performance and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Train and develop technicians to improve their skills.
Customer Service:
- Communicate with customers about the status of their vehicle repairs.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by providing high-quality service.
Administrative Tasks:
- Complete necessary paperwork, including repair orders and work estimates.
- Manage inventory of parts and supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
- Technical certification or diploma in automotive repair.
- Extensive experience as an automotive technician.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex automotive problems.
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures and safety standards.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Ability to work in a noisy and sometimes dirty environment.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Good eyesight and hearing.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
