Repair and overhaul equipment parts - I.e., rebuilding pumps and other equipment, as necessary. Repairs delegated through work orders initiated by Maintenance Planner.
Troubleshoot and repair process and packaging equipment as directed by Maintenance Supervisor. Complete work orders and parts issuances as required.
Complete any welding and fabrication jobs as required.
Maintain maintenance shop cleanliness.
Maintain plant buildings and premises according to Supervisor instruction. I.e., Repairing damaged walls, damaged sidings, adjusting doors.
Record and track work completed.
- Education Required: Associate’s Degree or Trade Certification
- Years of Experience Required: 2-5 years of related work experience preferred
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to work 12 hour shifts.
- Willingness to complete food safety and other job training and comply with SQF standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- In a timely and professional manner, perform all aspects of maintenance, preventative maintenance, monitor, troubleshoot and repair of all processing elements in the facility ensuring safety, communication and efficiency
- Ensure that all OSHA regulations are being met; safeguard both employees and customers by maintaining the highest level of safety and sanitation
- Proactively communicate with all departments in professional manner to fulfill company objectives
- Create and lead a positive, safe, productive & professional atmosphere
- Respond to process line or emergency calls to efficiently analyze, evaluate and direct repair of processing equipment so that maximum safety and efficiency of the system is maintained
- Perform lock out tag out procedures as required
- Keep accurate documentation
- Perform all equipment preventive maintenance as required by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and preventive maintenance as determined by management
- Proactively supervise processing area to ensure its optimum performance
- Assist outside contractors as needed
- Install new or revised equipment or devices as required
- Forecast any probable future issues that may cause downtime
- Train new employees as required
- Participate in Six Sigma projects and carry out new innovative ways pertaining to maintenance to help reduce downtime, cost and waste
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Attend and participate in meetings, training and continuing education programs internally or externally as deemed appropriate by management
