GENERAL DESCRIPTION
As a Vehicle Cosmetic Inspector at BluCar, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of vehicle descriptions presented to our customers. You will be responsible for meticulously inspecting vehicles for cosmetic damages, accurately documenting findings, and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our auction process.
Position will work in a variety of climates such as possible extreme heat or cold, along with indoor and outdoor environments.
Travel required to DFW for training
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Cosmetic Inspection: Conduct thorough visual inspections of vehicles to identify and document cosmetic damages, including scratches, dents, paint imperfections, and other aesthetic flaws.
2. Documentation: Accurately record inspection findings using Copart's proprietary software systems, ensuring that all relevant details are properly documented for transparent representation to potential buyers.
3. Photography: Capture high-quality photographs of vehicles, highlighting both their strengths and any cosmetic imperfections discovered during inspection, to provide comprehensive visual representations to buyers.
4. Quality Assurance: Maintain strict adherence to Copart's standards and guidelines for cosmetic inspections, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all assessments conducted.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including Vehicle Inspectors, Auction Coordinators, and Customer Service Representatives, to facilitate seamless communication and support efficient auction operations.
6. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquiries and concerns related to vehicle condition and cosmetic discrepancies, fostering positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
7. Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in training sessions and educational opportunities provided by Copart to enhance your knowledge and proficiency in vehicle inspection techniques and industry best practices.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (What is required to perform the Essential Duties?)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in automotive technology or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in automotive detailing, bodywork, or cosmetic inspection strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in using digital photography equipment and basic computer skills required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately assess and document cosmetic damages.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to collaborate as part of a dynamic team.
