Parts Counter Associate Job Summary
The primary job function of the Parts Counter Associate is to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customer requests for parts, both in person and on the telephone.
Parts Counter Associate Duties and Responsibilities
- Wait on customers or mechanics at parts counter or on phone.
- Research customers requests and needs where necessary and determine correct part(s) needed.
- If part(s) is in stock produce invoice from computer system. If not in stock and customer wants to order, create Purchase Order and process orders.
- Checking in orders and receiving Purchase Orders in the business system.
- Assisting with inventory and core returns to vendors, including pulling, packing, and shipping.
- Restock shelves and maintain parts bins, i.e., rearranging parts, cleaning, labeling, etc.
- Assist with annual parts inventory physical count, to include actual physical counting of parts, tallying of counts, etc.
- Assist Parts Manager with miscellaneous tasks.
- Complete all required job related training.
Parts Counter Associate Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
2 years of retail sales experience preferred
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Excellent organization and communication skills
Basic computer knowledge
Computer terminal data input, 10 key calculator
Understanding of office procedures, to include filing, correspondence, basic accounting
Knowledge of bills of lading, freight bills
Willing to train
