The expected salary range for the Automative Parts Technician I upon hire is $46,387- $61,454. The expected salary range for the Automative Parts Technician II upon hire is $53,510- $81,467. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position will be underfilled at the Automotive Parts Technician I, Grade 12.This recruitment will establish an eligible list to fill current and future vacancies.The individual selected for this position will be considered an Essential Employee. Essential employees must report to work during a period of general emergency or liberal leave, and/or remain at work until discharged by a supervisor.?The Automotive Parts Technician will perform specialized work providing tools and automotive parts support in the Department of General Services, Automotive Parts Department in the Division of Fleet Management Services. The Automotive Parts Department supply operation supports a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week fleet maintenance shop. Work shift may include nights and weekends.?Employee will need to drive and deliver or pick up parts at vendors or other County locations using a County vehicle. The duties include: Researching, ordering, receiving, stocking, controlling and distributing automotive parts, tools, and supplies in assigned locations;Counting, sorting, and/or weighing incoming articles to verify receipts of items;Examining received goods to check for damage and verify conformance to specification, and return damaged items, core items, and warranty items for credit;Operating materials handling equipment to move items throughout the storage area/facilities;Monitoring supply levels, filling orders, assist in preparing requisitions, and maintaining stock records;Establishing and maintaining storage locations, identifies user's tools, parts, equipment, and supply requirements, and recommends possible substitute or interchangeable items;Safeguarding stock against lost, damage or theft and performs physical inventory at prescribed intervals;Working as counter person to receive, process, and issue supply requests.
