Overview
Come grow with us by joining our team as a Body Paint Technician! In this role, you will play a critical role for the company and will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments. You will perform body repair and maintenance on vehicles and paint completed products with an automotive finish. The position must have the ability to paint an automotive finish on cars, trucks, buses, fire trucks etc. Familiarity with paint equipment. Clean, degrease and primer both component parts and finished product. Clean and maintain all paint equipment. Maintain a high-quality paint standard throughout. Be able to repair body damage which includes fixing dents, wiping, and sanding Bondo, repairing fiberglass panels, and replacing parts, etc.

Responsibilities
Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:
- Inspect vehicles for structural damage
- Remove damaged body parts and realign frames and chassis to repair structural damage
- Hammer out or patch dents, dimples, and other minor body damage
- Fit, attach, and weld replacement parts into place
- Document time spent on each job each day
- Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Company’s Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and suppliers
- Sprays surfaces of machines, manufactured products, or working area with protective or decorative material, such as paint, enamel, glaze, gelcoat, or lacquer, using spray gun: Cleans grease and dirt from product, using material such as lacquer thinner, turpentine, soap, and water
- Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated
- Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface
- Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color, according to specifications, using paddle or mechanical mixer
- Select appropriate paint or mix paints using automated paint mixing equipment
- Tend or operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents, or otherwise prepare items for application of paint, lacquer or other protective or decorative coatings
- Tend or operate automated spray paint, dip or flow coating equipment or other mechanized painting or product coating application equipment
- Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat stationary items
- Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes
- Clean and maintain painting and coating ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment
- May prepare and apply stencils computer generated decals, or other decorative items on finished products
- Maintain work area in clean and safe condition
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in body and paint work.
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Physical strength and stamina
Physical Requirements
- May be required to do frequent kneeling, stooping, squatting, crawling, and climbing to perform multiple tasks of position.
- Must have good manual dexterity
- Must be able to paint on feet for up to 8 hours a day
- Must have the ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs.
