Responsibilities
Essential Duties include the following but are not limited to:
- Reads & Interprets Advisor write-ups to properly diagnose vehicle performance concerns
- Communicates with GM Technical Assistance (TAC) to obtain current diagnostic & repair procedures
- Maintains GM and State Training Certifications for all qualified repair categories
- Works to obtain additional certifications as shop training needs and workload allow
- Clearly documents repair procedures on Repair Orders in compliance with GM Warranty and State requirements
- Coordinates with Parts Warehouse to obtain quotes and order necessary parts for jobs
- Works closely with Foreman and Manager to prioritize work for good CSI
- Maintains production average commensurate with experience
- Performs thorough test drives to verify customers’ concerns and repair quality
- Performs and thoroughly documents inspections on each vehicle to ensure customers are informed of maintenance and repair needs beyond the initial complaint/concern
Qualifications
- GM and State Certifications beyond basic maintenance and suspension required
- Transmission, Heavy Engine Repair and Diesel strongly preferred
- Clean DMV record
- Authorized to work in the United States and Michigan
- Obtain/Maintain a personal tool collection appropriate for experience and work desired.
