East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) Automotive Services Attendant IIs (ASA IIs) operate a lubrication truck in the field to dispense fuel and lubricants and perform routine preventative maintenance to vehicles in the field as assigned. ASA IIs perform a variety of routine and semi-skilled work in the servicing of automobiles, trucks, and heavy construction equipment.
Typical duties include:
- Fueling vehicles and performing preventative maintenance.
- Inspecting vehicles for maintenance problems and arranging for necessary service and repair.
- Transporting vehicles for service and fueling.
- Repairing, replacing, and balancing tires of automobiles, trucks, and heavy construction equipment.
- Preparing and maintaining a variety of computerized records and reports related to service work orders.
- Establishing and maintaining effective customer relations and good working relationships.
- Washing, cleaning, and detailing vehicles.
The salary range is $7,189 per month increasing to $7,548, $7,925 and $8,321 after 12, 24, and 36 months, respectively.

1. Completion of the eighth grade or its equivalent, and either:
2a. One year of experience equivalent to EBMUD’s Automotive Services Attendant I classification and upon supervisory certification of proficiency; OR
2b. One year of experience servicing, changing, and repairing tires on a variety of vehicles.
3. A valid Class B (or higher) California driver's license, a satisfactory driving record AND endorsements for hazardous materials and tanker. DMV reports will be reviewed during the exam process. Applicants who do not meet this requirement by Monday, September 9, 2024 will be disqualified from the selection process.
4. Must possess physical characteristics to perform the critical and important duties of the job, including sufficient strength to move, manipulate, and balance objects, such as large truck tires weighing up to 500 pounds, with the use of proper equipment.
5. Must be willing to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and work overtime as needed.

5. The probation period for this position is 6 months. For those holding civil service status the probation period is 6 months.
