Minimum Qualifications
- Five years of experience with maintenance management.
- Three years of experience with DOT compliance and standardization.
- Three years of experience in direct management of personnel.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

About Your Role
The Fleet Manager oversees all commercial vehicles, drivers, and related assets. This role will manage operations, ensure compliance with external and internal policies, optimize performance, and maintain cost-effective practices. Key duties involve purchasing and maintaining vehicles, coordinating maintenance and repairs, monitoring driver adherence to schedules and safety practices, and implementing company-wide standards. The Fleet Manager will coordinate maintenance, oversee maintenance record-keeping, manage registrations, ensure compliance with DOT regulations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across all fleet operations. Drive excellence in fleet management through proactive project management, fostering a culture of compliance, safety, and efficiency across all fleet operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Assist with other duties as assigned.
- Develop and optimize the utilization of external mechanical contractors, handling administrative paperwork in collaboration with finance to ensure seamless processing.
- Provide input on expense budgets to management, supporting safe and efficient truck fleet operations.
- Offer recommendations on capital expenditure budgets, analyzing equipment replacement needs to maintain safe and efficient fleet operations.
- Research, estimate costs, and recommend changes or modifications to truck equipment, leveraging supplier and vendor data.
- Acquire national vendor repair accounts, negotiating nationwide pricing to ensure efficient billing and reduced maintenance costs.
- Facilitate procurement processes by preparing and submitting purchase requests for equipment, inventory, and parts using the company's IFS computer system.
- Lead the planning and implementation of safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA rules and DOT regulations while investigating accidents and injuries and compiling necessary reports for regulatory agencies.
- Ensure all DOT, compliance and safety requirements are adhered to and properly reported, including maintaining driver qualification files (DQF), medical certifications, driving records, employment history, and hours-of-service, as well as conduct regular audits of documentation to remain compliant.
- Oversee the Company’s drug and alcohol testing program, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, while acting as the Designated Employer Representative (DER).

Working Conditions
