To attain the maximum hiring amount employee must have:
- Liberal Arts or Developmental Education Faculty Position: applicable Masters degree plus 36 credits (or an applicable terminal degree), plus 10 years of applicable work experience.
- Career Technical Education (CTE) Faculty Position: applicable Masters degree, plus 10 years of applicable work experience.

Job Description:

Full-Time, Faculty, 9-month Academic position – Automotive Faculty. This is a Full-Time, tenure-track, benefited Faculty position beginning as soon as possible. The faculty member will conduct their assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purpose of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog. The primary purpose of the faculty member is to teach. The faculty member is also responsible for scholarly and creative activities (professional development), and service to the college. Primary responsibility is to instruct Automotive Service Technology courses.
1. Teach classes on a morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, or combined schedule as assigned.
2. In addition to participating in institutional/department recruiting and retention activities, duties will also include advising new and returning students through the occupational Certificates and AAS Degree Programs.
3. Develop and/or modify curriculum as necessary to meet the changing technology of the automotive service repair and management field.
4. Assist the program director in the daily operational tasks, including the selection, acquisition, repair, and maintenance of program equipment and facilities.
5. Participate in department, program, division, and college meetings, activities, and comply with all Aims Community College and ASE Educational Foundation/NATEF policies and procedures including program certifications.
6. Involvement by attending classes, seminars, and workshops to stay current in the professional areas of teaching and technical automotive service technology repair is a required activity. Must acquire and track 40 hours of yearly technically specific professional development and training to maintain current and relevant skills and training.
7. Position will require extensive tasks in regards to meeting area shop owners, shop maintenance, and scheduling as required.
8. AYES/Career Academy/SkillUSA and like program coordination and participation involvement is also part of the job required job duties.
9. Student and prospective students’ interaction and participation in program related activities including recruiting, tours, SkillsUSA, Automotive student clubs, and other activities including the Annual Aims Automotive Car Show are requirements.
10. Assisting in the Automotive Programs in evaluation and selection, adoption, and acquisition of equipment, textbooks, other resources and materials is necessary as is pricing, bid, and item acquisition.
11. Moving, staging, set up, testing, teardown, inventory, and disposition of, vehicles, equipment, materials, and supplies is a required activity.
12. Responsible for creating, maintaining instructional materials, and student records such as syllabus, tests, and grades. Implementation of the Aims Community College’s mission statement and goals while completing the department, program, and division goals/directives as assigned is expected.
13. Retrieval, Inventory, Maintenance, Repair, and Disposal of Aims Automotive Instructional Fleet Vehicles is a required role of this position. This includes the repair of all student instructional lab projects to pre-instructional condition. Additionally this position is responsible for maintaining program vehicles and their condition.
14. Follow all Program Rules, Regulations, and Standard Operating Practices including Inventory, Shop Controls, Tool Programs, and other Program Requirements.

Fulfill College service requirements by making meaningful contributions on campus and/or to community service groups.

Participate in institutional and departmental recruitment and retention activities. Assist in the evaluation and selection of textbooks and other resources and materials in one’s assigned area.

Serve on department, division, and institutional committees.

Assist in program and curriculum review, revision, and the development and assessment of learning.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in Automotive Service Technology, Occupational Studies, or another related field OR the ability to obtain an Associate’s Degree in a related field within a two-and-a-half-year time frame of beginning employment.

Full and current Automotive Service Excellence, (ASE) Certification in A1-Engine Repair, A2-Automatic Transmission, A3-Manual Drive Train and Axles, A4-Suspension and Steering, A5-Brakes, A6-Engine Repair, A7-Electrical/Electrical Systems, A8-Engine Performance.

ASE G1-Certification must be obtained prior to first day of classes.

ASE L1-Certification must be obtained within the first year of employment, as well as all other ASE Educational Foundation/NATEF Standards for current Program Instructor Certification.

Shall hold or qualify for a full-time, post-secondary vocational credential in Transportation, Automotive Service issued by Aims Community College CTE Office. Automotive Service repair experience with an established repair facility or business of at least 3 years.

Experience in College/High School recruitment a plus.

Extensive software and equipment knowledge of Alldata, Mitchell on Demand/Shop Stream, ATECH Equipment, CDX Automotive Program, ConsuLab Equipment, Electiude platform, Mustang Dyno equipment, Identafix.

Service advising experience, automotive service management experience, automotive dealership management experience.

Extensive Microsoft Office Product experience including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Experience in auto shop management, administrative activities related to budgeting, accounting, procurement and personnel management.
