Description:
Looking to hire a technician with the ability to perform light maintenance and repairs. This is an entry-level position. We are wanting to have this employee grow within the company, having the employee do trainings to be able to do more advanced technician work in the future!
Light maintenance and repairs include lube, oil and filter changes, balancing and rotation of tires, and flushing cooling systems. Installing and repairing automotive air-conditioning units within dealership and factory quality and time guidelines. Repairing and maintaining diesel and gasoline engine industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications. Aligning wheels, axles, frames, torsion bars and steering mechanisms of automotive vehicles.
Requirements:
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Sells lubrication, safety inspection and other related services.
- Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replenishes as necessary.
- Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road tests vehicles.
- Completes repairs according to dealership and manufacturer quality and time standards. Maintains and ensures quality service for every customer’s experience.
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Completes repair work on trade-in used vehicles.
- Aligns vehicles.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keeps shop area neat and clean.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
- Keeps current on all training requirements; such as GM training, Compliance training and other training as assigned by manager.
- Sets a good example by maintaining a healthy work demeanor and cooperating with other managers and fellow employees in a positive spirit of teamwork. Represents Puklich Chevrolet positively when out in the community.
