Position Summary:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain various types of vehicles and/or equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Diagnosis and troubleshooting: Identify mechanical and electrical issues through inspections, diagnostic tools, and tests. Analyze problems and determine the appropriate repair procedures.
§ Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other mechanical components. Replace or repair faulty parts and systems to restore functionality.
§ Routine Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements to prevent potential issues and extend the lifespan of vehicles and equipment.
§ Electrical and Electronics: Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems, including wiring, sensors, and onboard computers. Ensure proper functioning of sensors and other electronic components.
§ Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts used. Create reports detailing the work performed and any recommendations for further actions.
§ Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while performing repairs and maintenance tasks. Ensure equipment meets all relevant safety standards.
§ Testing and Quality Control: Test vehicles and equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality. Perform quality control checks to ensure the highest standard of workmanship.
§ Parts Procurement: Identify necessary replacement parts and orders from suppliers. Keep track of inventory and ensure the availability of essential components.
Qualifications and Requirements:
§ Formal vocational or technical training in automotive or mechanical engineering is preferred.
§ Proved experience as a mechanic, preferable in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of vehicle and equipment repair techniques.
§ Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
§ Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
§ Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, engines, transmissions, and other components.
§ Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
§ Physical stamina and dexterity to work with various tools and in different positions.
§ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
§ Excellent communication skills
