Maintenance Technician B
Transdev in Chula Vista, CA is seeking an experienced B-Level Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:
- $33.10 per hour

- Starting pay $33.10 with progression based on CBA negotiation over a 3 year period.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues.
- Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of heavy-duty transit equipment preferred
- ASE certifications preferred
- Three H or T series ASE certifications preferred, of which two must include H2, T2, T4 or H4.
- Additionally, optimally, will possess 609 and 608 air conditioning certificates.
- Mechanic’s Tool Set
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reach with hands or arms; and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to sit.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; and smell.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold and in a damp environment with moderate noise.
- May be exposed to water, fumes, and chemicals.
