We are looking for a skilled Automotive Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair vehicles at our family owned & operated car dealership. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them. You need to be well-versed in complex mechanical or electrical systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities, and must be a good communicator to provide advice to customers.

We are looking to hire someone ASAP and the job position will be open until the position is filled.

Salary/Hourly Pay Rate

Pay will depend on your resume, experience and certifications: We will discuss pay during the interview. Hourly rate will start at $25-$30 an hour and if you have ASE Certification and 10+ years experience then the pay will be more of course but we can talk pay after reviewing the resume. (No Commission).

Work Schedule

We need someone full-time or part-time, Monday-Friday hours: 10am-6:30pm. (We can discuss hours and schedule). Flexible on schedule and if you need to work Saturday's we can adjust schedule to make it work.

Responsibilities

Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and update
Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.)
Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use
Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
Starting Dealership Vehicles every other day
Keeping work area clean & maintained
Errand running for parts or transporting/driving vehicles from auction or other repair shops
We have Power tools & Heavy equipment butYOU need to bring your own basic tools/box
Job Responsibilities will vary but we need someone that is not lazy and will take care of our vehicles and car lot! We need someone wanting to work hard and be helpful no matter what needs to be done

Skills

Proven experience as auto mechanic, prefer 5+ years experience
Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
Experience with Snap-On scan tools and Mitchell Pro-Demand/Shop Management systems is a big plus
Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
Excellent physical condition & able to lift heavy objects
High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred
Valid certification (e.g. ASE) is a definite plus
We need a long term mechanic that is trustworthy and responsible enough to work independently ("Job-Hopper's" do NOT apply please).
Easy to work with and willing to help, we do not need lazy helpers and will not tolerate it

Working Conditions

Inside heated garage with Automotive Rotary Lift, & we have large shop fans & Portacool Fans.
We have a Break room/lounge with a refrigerator/microwave/snacks/coffee/drinks etc.
You will have to learn how to switch tasks all of a sudden if there is a more urgent task that needs to be done, such as: a customer needs check engine looked at with scan tool when you are in the middle of a job etc. (Able to switch tasks quickly).
Our car dealership is located on SW 29th St in Oklahoma City and is predominantly a Hispanic customer base. We are very laid back and do not micro-manage, we are very straight forward with what we want or expect. We need someone that shows respect and has a positive attitude. We will not tolerate people that are lazy, can't show up to work on time or someone that gives a half effort when doing work. We need a motivated worker that wants to succeed, and we will make sure you are compensated as so.
