What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

Supervise and coordinate all pre-series "Body" activities.
Ensure that vehicles are assembled according to quality standards, design specifications, and production timelines.
Collaborate with engineering teams to address buildability concerns and implement short- and long-term countermeasures.
Develop and maintain detailed control plans for fit, finish, and overall vehicle assembly.
Provide input on design feasibility, ensuring that pre-series builds reflect production realities.
Coordinate and oversee routine maintenance activities for Body equipment located in the Pilot Hall, including tools, jigs, fixtures, and machinery.
Ensure all equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operational for pre-series builds.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, working closely with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality during pre-series builds.
Develop and update Body and Maintenance procedures as needed to reflect best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions from pre-series to full production.
Lead, coach, and develop the Body team, providing training on Body Shop techniques, quality standards, and equipment usage.
Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure optimal equipment performance and to manage any issues that arise during production.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork within the Pilot Hall Liaise with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure that Body processes are aligned with vehicle requirements.
Work with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to address any issues related to parts, tools, processes, or equipment.
Ensure proper documentation and feedback loops between Pilot Hall operations and other departments.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance at in-person meetings and events. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing in Body Shop production with maintenance responsibilities, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Automotive Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of pre-series builds, pilot hall operations, and the automotive production process.
Hands-on experience with Body Shop tools, jigs, and fixtures in a manufacturing setting.
Experience in managing maintenance teams and coordinating repair activities.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $100,000 - $120,000
