What to Expect
The Prototype Engineering and Fabrication team is looking for experienced Automotive Technicians looking to advance their automotive career. You must be highly motivated and flexible to adapt to the fast-paced work environment at Tesla.
What You'll Do
- Retrofit and modify prototype vehicles to accept new hardware designs from Engineering
- Build custom prototypes and bucks vehicles
- Diagnose and repair failures found with prototypes
- Provide failure analysis and design concerns back to Engineering
- General fleet maintenance and repair
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years’ Automotive Tech repair, diagnostic, and troubleshooting experience
- Technical certification from accredited automotive training institution preferred
- Equipped with own tools, with ability to operate and maintain various hand and power tools
- Ability to operate and maintain shop tools and equipment
- Willing to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to travel and work between locations within the California Bay Area
- Work independently and/or collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment and meet tight deadlines
- Have the ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities/schedules
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal

Expected Compensation
$26.84 - $71.94/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
