Job Opportunity
Ponder Environmental Services located in Bakersfield is looking for an Hazmat Technician.
Job Description/Job Duties:
- Hazardous waste clean up and disposal.
- Perform all types of troubleshooting, repair, and equipment maintenance.
- Operate a forklift and other types of equipment.
- Use of pumping systems.
- Will work in confined spaces.
- Chemical transfer and handling.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or willing to obtain prior to employment.
- Must have familiarization and understanding of use and application of various types of respiratory protection and chemical hazards.
- Valid Class C Driver's License and a clean DMV required.
- Experience performing general laborer duties related to the clean-up of hazardous waste sites.
- Utilizing all types of personal protective equipment.
- Have working knowledge of commonly used field equipment and gear.
- Must be willing to travel and work overtime.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
