Qualifications
- Licensed Massachusetts Auto Damage Appraiser
- Must have working knowledge of automobile repair and collision process
- Must have working knowledge of Insurance Claim protocol
- Strong Customer Service skills
- Great Communication Skills

Position Summary:
Appraises vehicle damage to determine cost of repair for insurance claim settlement. Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations to ensure that collision repairs are performed correctly and efficiently by qualified body shop technicians and that the Collision Center maintains a consistently high level of safety and customer satisfaction that is consistent with Route 24 Auto Group’s core philosophies, principles, and values.
The Body Shop Estimator will be held accountable to:
- Ensure that all company policies, procedures, programs, and strategies are followed and executed effectively.
- Implement effectively all the duties, responsibilities, and requirements outlined in this job description.
- Set a professional standard that always reflects favorably on Route 24 Auto Group
- Reports any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers, or employees to management.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examines damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical or interior damage.
- Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
- Reviews repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreman.
- In the event of a disagreement with manager or foreman on repair cost, arranges to have damage appraised by another appraiser to resolve the situation.
- Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders and doors.
- Evaluates practicality of repair as opposed to payment of vehicle market value before accident.
- Determines salvage value on total vehicle loss.
- Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
- Estimates cost of repainting, converting to special purposes or customizing undamaged vehicles.
- Other tasks as assigned.

Certificates/Licenses: Damage Analysis and Estimating Certification for Collision Repair
