Job Summary: The Landscape Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing a variety of landscape equipment and machinery. This role ensures that all equipment is in optimal working condition, reducing downtime and supporting the efficiency of landscaping operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance on landscape equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and other small engines.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in landscape machinery.
- Ensure all equipment is properly lubricated, cleaned, and adjusted.
Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
- Test equipment after repairs to ensure it is functioning correctly and safely.
- Inspect fleet equipment such as trucks and trailers to ensure we are in compliance
Inventory Management:
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools required for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Order replacement parts as needed to ensure timely repairs.
Documentation:
- Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs performed on each piece of equipment.
- Report any major issues or repairs to the supervisor and recommend solutions.
Safety:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Train landscape crew members on the proper use and basic maintenance of equipment.
Support:
- Assist the landscape crew with equipment setup and adjustments as needed.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for any equipment-related issues that arise in the field.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics preferred.
- Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with landscape or small engine equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed both indoors in a shop environment and outdoors on job sites.
- Exposure to loud noises, vibrations, and hazardous conditions such as sharp objects and chemicals.
- Requires standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour

- Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Required)
