We are looking for an experienced Fabricator/Automotive Technician to join our team. We are looking for a reliable, skilled technician and craftsman with proven, professional experience that truly cares about their work, cares about producing as a team and has a passion for automotive restoration. Specifically, we are looking for an experienced automotive fabricator. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of welding machines, fabricating parts from metal components, installing engines, fuel systems, building custom suspensions, frames, brackets, and more. This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as, the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Perform grinding and finishing operations on welded components.
- Disassembly and reassembly of all automobiles of several components ie: Suspensions, Hydraulics, engines, wiring harness, dashes. All or partial aspects of restorations.
- MIG and TIG weld steel, aluminum, and stainless steel components based on specifications.
- Accurately lay out parts, assemble, and make appropriate welds based on specifications.
- Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Lift raw materials, final products, and items manually (up to 51 pounds).
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail with ability to properly install components in tight spaces of vehicle.
- Comfortable with automotive lift operation.
- Experience with steel and aluminum.
- Previous experience in automotive restoration industry (MIG/TIG Welding/Panel fitting)
- Experience with hand tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience doing engine swaps, and other extensive automotive repair.
- At least one year experience with MIG and TIG welding highly preferred.
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shields, gloves, etc.).
- Ability to perform simple shop math
- Ability to produce quality products consistently.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be reliable, with a strong work ethic and desire to contribute to a team
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift, carry, and place parts and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Frequent standing and bending for long periods of time.
- Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting. Long periods of time under suspended vehicle on jacks or a lift.
- Safely operates a motor vehicle.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- automotive repair: 5 years (Required)
