Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Body Shop Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing vehicle damage, preparing accurate estimates for repairs, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the repair process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive service and estimating, along with excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
Duties
- Evaluate damaged vehicles to determine the extent of repairs needed.
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for repair costs using industry-standard software.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain the repair process and answer any questions they may have.
- Collaborate with technicians and service writers to ensure all necessary repairs are accounted for in estimates.
- Maintain knowledge of current automotive technologies and repair techniques, including diesel engine repair.
- Provide exceptional customer service by following up with clients during the repair process and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Stay updated on industry trends, including automotive sales practices and dealership operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in auto estimating or a similar role within an automotive service environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles, including familiarity with oil change procedures and general automotive service.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Experience in service writing is a plus, along with a background in dealership operations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair is desirable but not mandatory.
