We are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager to oversee our service department operations in Dana Point, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive service and repair, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. Operational Hours for this role will be Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm, and Saturday 8 am -3 pm
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the automotive service department, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow optimization.
- Ensure efficient and profitable operation by monitoring productivity, managing resources, and controlling expenses.
- Hire, train, and supervise service department personnel, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging professional growth.
- Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction by addressing customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring quality service delivery.
- Must have diagnostic knowledge
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to safety, quality, and service standards.
- Collaborate with the sales department to promote service offerings and maximize customer retention.
- Oversee inventory management and parts ordering to ensure availability and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor industry trends and technological advancements to recommend improvements in service operations.
- Prepare and analyze departmental reports, budgets, and forecasts for management review.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Certified Smog Technician preferred
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in automotive service management, with a proven track record of success.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and employees.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with automotive service management software.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
