About Our Master Paint Technician Role:
As a Master Paint Technician in our innovative automotive team, you'll be instrumental in transforming and restoring vehicles. Your primary responsibilities will involve all vehicle bodywork and painting aspects, including surface preparation, rust removal, dent filling, and applying paint and coatings. You will be expected to operate all body shop equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring each project meets our high standards for workmanship and aesthetics. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to craftsmanship, as you'll be handling classic cars with the aim of merging their timeless beauty with modern enhancements. Your skills in paint mixing, application, and finishing are crucial in bringing our unique vehicle conversions to life, making each one a showcase of quality and style.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- 5-10 years of vehicle painting experience
- Safely and efficiently operate all body shop equipment, ensuring a seamless workflow.
- Transform metal surfaces by expertly removing rust, grease, and dirt, preparing them for the perfect finish.
- Skillfully mask and protect designated areas, guaranteeing precision in every paint job.
- Sculpt flawless surfaces by filling and smoothing cavities and dents with precision putty.
- Create vibrant, customized hues by expertly mixing paint to match specifications.
- Craft the perfect color palette by selecting and blending coating liquids for stunning results.
- Paint with finesse, utilizing both sprayers and brushes to bring surfaces to life with professional precision.
- Elevate quality standards by meticulously inspecting painted units, ensuring flawless outcomes.
- Uphold excellence by maintaining tools and equipment in peak condition for optimal performance.
- Prioritize safety by wearing and maintaining all necessary personal protective equipment, ensuring a secure work environment.
- Demonstrate compliance with regulations governing hazardous materials, upholding environmental responsibility.
- Foster teamwork by collaborating with colleagues to achieve exceptional vehicle repair and preparation.
- Stay ahead of the curve by understanding and adhering to federal, state, and local regulations governing body shop operations.
- Embrace versatility by eagerly taking on additional responsibilities as needed, contributing to the team's success.
Desired Skills
- An exceptional eye for detail and two or more years of experience in automotive paint shop operations, either in OEM or Collision Repair environments.
- Ability to effectively collaborate in a team-based setting within a quality-driven production environment.
- Proficiency in standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment utilized in vehicle assembly and maintenance technologies.
- Deep understanding and adherence to safe work practices associated with tools, equipment, and supplies used in automotive assembly and maintenance.
- Familiarity with body and frame construction techniques to ensure structural integrity and longevity.
- Proficiency in the use of relevant hand/power tools and auto body repair and painting equipment.
- An unwavering commitment to safety, including use of PPE, HAZMAT and 5S practices.
- A valid Driver's License.

The work environment may include exposure to noise, fumes, and heat. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times in accordance with safety regulations.
Walking, sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. Lifting, carrying, or pushing/pulling supplies, materials, equipment and/or items weighing up to 75 pounds. Clean and well-organized unconditioned shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times requires ear plugs, use of eye protection, and/or occasional use of a respirator.
