- Automotive Technician - Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Receive and carry out Repair Orders as dispatched by Service Manager
- Perform high quality and efficient repair service in accordance with Center and Factory standards
- Perform diagnostic services and troubleshooting to determine repair needs
- Repair gas and diesel engines and transmissions
- Road-test repaired vehicles to ensure repairs are complete
- Communicate directly and efficiently with Service Manager and Parts Manager
- Participate in continual GM proprietary training/education programs to hone skills and develop expertise in industry-leading Chevrolet-Buick automotive technologies and processes
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Employers' values in all interactions
Automotive Technician - Mechanic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Automotive Technical training or Trade School degree strongly preferred
- 3-5 years hands-on work experience as Automotive Technician in a reputable shop environment
- Valid Driver's License
- Strong Mechanical & Electrical diagnostic aptitude and hands on skill required
- Excellent Customer Service skills required
- Candidate must have their own basic automotive tool set
- ASE Certifications strongly considered, but not applicable to GM Certification process
- Pre-employment testing; including drug, background, and motor vehicle reports
Job Type: Full-time / weekends off (unless needed)
Salary: $19.00 to $29.00 /hour plus commission, Health Insurance, Retirement Plan
