Position Summary:
The Agfinity Energy Service Manager is accountable for all aspects of our Refined Fuel and Propane Service Department. The ideal candidate is a proven leader, with a successful track record of disciplined financial and personnel management. This position leads by example and is committed to achieving excellence for our customers and the entire Agfinity team.
Areas of responsibility Include:
- Directly accountable for Service Department’s financial performance, including budget, profit & loss, service levels, and meeting related Energy Division goals as assigned.
- Daily management of Service Department staff and all related vehicles, equipment, and inventory.
- Responsible for planning all department tasks, organizing service calendars and timelines, scheduling Service Technicians, directing day-to-day work activities, and monitoring progress and service quality.
- Setting and maintaining high standards for all Service Department activities, in safety, job performance, paperwork procedures, and continuing training.
- Effective communication with customers, Customer Service Representatives (CSR’s), and Sales personnel regarding service orders and scheduling.
- Maintaining strict accountability for accurate and timely field paperwork processing and billing resolution.
- Regular reporting to Energy Division Executive and Operations leadership on department financial performance, work progress, and emerging risks.
- In partnership with the leadership team, develop and implement continuous process improvements, and carry out strategic directives as given.
Essential Functions:
- Assume personal responsibility over the financial and operational performance metrics of the Service Department.
- Ensure all Agfinity Service Order requests are documented and fulfilled in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assign daily internal and external work to multiple Service Technicians, tending to their needs, and holding them accountable for their work at every level, while correcting any mistakes when they occur.
- Ensure every completed service order has all parts, labor, and other information itemized correctly and completely by technicians prior to sending to billers and invoicing the customer.
- Monitor and control Service Department operational and labor costs.
- Manage all aspects of the Service Department’s inventories, including projections, ordering, stocking, and monthly reconciliations.
- Maintain, routinely audit, and document physical parts inventories, company assets, vehicle maintenance, and compliance records.
- Develop and implement quality and safety training, corrective actions, and employee growth plans. Enforce strict adherence to policies, service standards, and job performance expectations.
Education:
- Minimum HS Diploma or GED required
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years of direct employee management.
- Minimum two (2) years Department-level or higher management experience required.
- Background in equal or similar technical industries to propane and refined fuels—like oilfield, chemical, engineering, or construction is a plus.
- Driver dispatch or equivalent logistics coordination experience is a plus.
Knowledge:
- Must demonstrate a history of strong general mechanical aptitude and be able to comprehend how a variety of common propane and liquid fuel systems work: For example: hydraulic and pneumatic pumps, compressors, pressure regulators, flow meters.
- Strong understanding of crew/job scheduling and dispatching best practices (time management, job length estimation)
- Office workflow management, financial terms, and process implementation.
- Windows Operating System familiarity, and MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) fluency
