What you will do
As a critical part of the team, the Commercial Security Systems Service Technician works with our commercial customers to service and maintain (security alarms, fire alarms, access control, video surveillance, intercoms, etc.
Additional duties would be on the installation of hardware on an as needed for customers looking to upgrade various communicators equipment when necessary.
Conduct on site system inspections and maintain inspection records through various 3rd party systems.
How you will do it
- Service and inspect equipment as required by customer or Johnson Controls Security Solutions.
- Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
- Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
- Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions from Supervisor.
- Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
- Test’s operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
- Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
- Coordinates installations with police / fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
- May manage installation teams on larger projects.
- Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
- Travel required, using provided company vehicle and equipment.
What we look for
Required :
- State of Washington General Journey Level Electrician (EL01) license or Master Limited Energy System (EL06) license.
- A minimum of 2 -5 years of low voltage experience
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational / product manuals.
- Experience with hand tools, multi-meter usage and handheld power tools.
- Ability to pass an MVR, Background Check and Drug Test.
- Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
- Ability to adhere to, implement and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude and ability to learn quickly.
Preferred :
- Software House, Lenel, Kantech, Amag, Hirsch, Genetec, ExacqVision and / or Bosch VMS certifications.
- NICET II certification or currently enrolled in the NICET program and will obtain the NICET II certification within one year.
CURRENT NICET II HOLDERS EARN AN ADDITIONAL 5% ON THE HOURLY ALLOTMENT).
A minimum of five (5) years of security video surveillance, access control and / or fire alarm experience.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE : $28-$37 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
