Filamatic has an opportunity for a highly organized, customer focused individual who will become our customers trusted partner and resource to diagnose and fix any issues that arise with their equipment as well as predictive and preventative maintenance schedules. As a trusted partner, the Aftermarket Service Technician will work with customers to drive the utilization of services while increasing revenue stream stemming from parts, retrofits and increased service offerings. Leveraging your technical expertise, business acumen and customer first approach you will solve problems, educate customers on applicable new product and services offerings, and make sure our customers are maximizing their return on investment.
As an Aftermarket Service Technician, you will be able to think quickly on your feet, remain calm with situations get stressful, and ensure our customers understand they have a trusted partner in you and Filamatic. Through your teamwork and collaborative approach, you will partner with internal functional teams to engage them proactively, equipping them with your acquired customer knowledge, allowing them to more efficiently and effectively support our customers.
This role will travel approximately 75% - 100%, ideally based out of Filamatic Headquarters in Baltimore, MD, however for seasoned professionals with a successful track record in similar roles, we will consider an individual who is remote.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose and fix technical problems onsite for customers as well as assist in predictive and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Provide people, process, data, and/or technology consultation to optimize performance of customer's machinery investments.
- Train equipment operators and maintenance personnel to facilitate full knowledge of machine operations and understanding of customer’s operations plus troubleshooting techniques.
- Grow Filamatic footprint within customer through capturing new aftermarket service, parts, retrofit business and through identification and rebuttal of competitive threats
- Act as the voice of the customer, representing them in interactions with others in the company (e.g. Applications, Sales, Engineering, Operations)
- Strengthen Filamatic Brand through trade shows, collaboration with OEMs, industry association events, and throughout day-to-day company travel interactions
- Drive Customer Satisfaction and Utilization on paid or internally commissioned service work.
- Increase revenue coming from parts, retrofits, and services.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Electrical and Mechanical expertise servicing industrial machinery, automation equipment and/or robotics. automated industry/manufacturing environment required.
- AA degree and/or technical school training with specialization in mechanical, electrical engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Advance knowledge of mechanical/electrical practices, electrical theory, PLC programming, servo motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics and troubleshooting.
- Ability to follow detailed mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Ability to use precision measuring tool, hand, power, and air tools.
- Excellent customer relation skills and communication skills.
- Successful track record in a similar client facing role requiring significant travel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Job requires being stationary and inspecting 75% of the time; moving, positioning self, reaching, moving up to 50 pounds approximately 20% of the time. Job requires use of hand tools air/power, phone, computer, measuring tools, mechanical and electrical testing equipment, voltmeter, air power tools, and machine tools.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Job requires working near/with moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, sharp edges or parts, and emission of liquid up to 75% of the time. Moderate noise level.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary Range: $30 - $40 per hour
