Responsibilities
Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership – familiarizing yourself with the service department & procedures
Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
Emissions technicians will attach sensors and other equipment to automobiles to check the contents of engine exhaust
Emissions technicians may repair exhaust malfunctions that the tests reveal.
Technicians are responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and calibrating the test equipment
Qualifications
Technician experience preferred
Technical degree preferred but not required
ASE certifications preferred but not required
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to identify the problem quickly
Effective analytical and communication skills
Good reading, computer, and mathematics skills
Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic Computer Skills
Positive, friendly attitude
Location - Mitchell Volvo, Simsbury, CT
License - Driver’s License Required
Pay Frequency - Bi-Weekly or Twice Monthly
Hours - Typically 7:30-4:00 p.m.
