Maintenance Mechanic
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the mechanical repairs for our fleet of vehicles. Our fleet is primarily the Ford e-series chassis. We also include F-Series and Cummins. Gray Line also has a large fleet of 80+ School Buses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles using diagnostic equipment.
- Perform repairs on vehicles along with maintenance
- Check and repair electrical and cooling systems and install heaters and similar accessories.
- Analyze engine performance and perform tune-ups as needed. Perform routine vehicle maintenance and preventive care.
- Operate tools, equipment, and machinery in accordance with established safety guidelines. Ensure shop, equipment and tools are in safe operating condition. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable.
- Maintain accurate and updated preventive maintenance records. Ensure all required reports are completed within established timelines.
- Ensure shop, tools, supplies and all work areas are clean and orderly at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Skill, and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in shop setting with knowledge of diesel and fuel engines, ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs, and operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair.
- Working knowledge of computers and basic data entry skills required
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in shop environment in all weather conditions.
- Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Work outside and inside around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts.
Salary: $18/hour; Quarterly Bonuses and Tool Allowance after 90 day Probationary period
Paid in-house CDL Training available with clean driving record.
Status: Full Time; Non-Exempt
Schedule:
- First Shift
- Rotating Weekends
