The Mobile Massachusetts Commercial & DOT State Inspector will perform auto, truck and trailer inspections in accordance with regulations established by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Department of Transportation. This role demands consistent and quality inspections while keeping with the state standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate vehicle information into the inspection system
- Inspect and record vehicle equipment and options, including damage and missing or inoperable items.
- Perform basic mechanical inspections on vehicles including powertrain, drivetrain, structural, and electrical components.
- Interpret and analyze inspection results
- Maintains quality records as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned
REQUIRED SKILL & ABILITIES
- Truck Technician experience preferred but not required
- Ability to describe to engines, transmissions and other various mechanical components
- Ability to attain and maintain state inspection certification
- Motivated to work independently with remote supervision
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Technical aptitude
- Basic computer proficiency
- Must be detail oriented
- Customer service skills
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CDL Class A or B required
- General knowledge of Automotive or Truck required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Vehicle estimating / repair experience ideal, but not required
- State Vehicle Inspector License preferred but internal training can be offered
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform required tasks
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods
